11/10/17 a fantastic result and high emotions at Tattersalls Book II
STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK consigned two yearlings at Book II of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales after one yearling had to be withdrawn - however the result was fantastic. Overall the average of the sale was GNS78.339 and the highest ever. The two yearlings offered by
STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK averaged GNS265.000 and this says something about the quality offered.
First in the ring came Lot 817
SAILING, a filly by
LOPE DE VEGA. She was prepped at
SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN and offered on behalf of her breeders Gestut Gorlsdorf she was purchased for GNS230.000 by Juddmonte Farms, a rare purchaser at the yearling sales. She was purchased for racing with the idea to add her to the phenomenal broodmare band.
With Lot 1249 entered
FABRIANO the ring. This colt by
SINNDAR out of
FOUR ROSES was bred by Graf and Grafin Stauffenberg, whose second dam
FRAULEIN TOBIN is the foundation mare of the couple. He was purchased for GNS300.000 by Roger Varian on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed Obaid al Maktoum and thus became the second yearling from
STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK purchased by these connections in 2017 and the most expensive yearling by
SINNDAR ever sold at public auction. It was an emotional moment not only for his breeders and Heike Senftleben, who is taking care of the young stock at
SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN since 10 years could not shed a tear either.
