31/01/18 The next foal is a lovely filly this time by Mastercraftsman out of Zegna

  

The next foal of the breeding season 2018 was born at 1:35 on the 31st of January at SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN. This time a filly by the 2000 Guineas winner MASTERCRAFTSMAN out of the Norsk Oaks winner ZEGNA. Withe her grey eyes and quite long ears the beautiful filly looks quite unusual. However being by a classic winner out of an classic winner, she carries some hopes for her breeders Graf und Grafin Stauffenberg. Especially as the first foal out of ZEGNA, a filly by NAYEF, named ZAHARA won her Maiden with 7 length very impressive at 2 at Jagersro and is aiming for the Scandinavian Classics in 2018. She is running in the colours of Mr Ascot, in whose colours ZEGNA won the Oaks. Both fillies have been sold by STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK at the BBAG Yearling Sales. ZEGNA herself by Derbywinner SHIROCCO, is a sister to Swedish Derby- and multiple classic winner ZENATO and was bought back privately by her breeders after she had finished her racing career.

ZEGNA has a 2yo colt by CASAMENTO in training in Japan after being bought by Darley Japan at the Tattersalls December Foal Sales. Her yearling is an other colt by LORD OF ENGLAND. Named ZACHARY he will be sold at one of the yearling sales later in the year.
