09/12/13 Sales season ends on a high for Stauffenberg Bloodstock
busy 3 weeks in search for some jewels
STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK was very busy in trying to buy at this years foal sales to fulfill the orders for a pinhooking syndicate. Overall prizes for foals were up again and especially the better quality ones were in high demand not only by pinhookers, but also end consumers.
Search started at Goffs, and being underbidder to the different camps of the Maktoums, al Thanis and Coolmore on four of the five sales topping foals, the agency finally was successful purchasing a lovely good walking colt from the first crop of 2yo Gr.1 and Irish Guineas winner RODERIC O'CONNOR out of DIORA from a deep German family.
After Goffs,
STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK was active at the Tattersalls December Sales in two roles, as the agency was selling some foals (see separate news) and trying to find more foals for his client to pinhook. On the first day of the Foal Sales
STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK created some headlines, as a colt by
CHAMPS ELYSEES out of
DAHAMA became a new record prize for the first day of the sales, when
STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK was seeing of some of the best judges. By a sire, who made a very promising start with his first 2yos, the striking colt is a brother to this years Gr.2 Rockfel Stakes winner
AL TAHIRA.
The agency stroke twice on Friday. First came a colt by leading sire
HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR out of
SHARAPOVA. The loose and athletic walker is brother to the 2yo Gr.1 placed
LOTTIE DOD. The last foal to be purchased by
STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK at the Tattersalls December Sales was a beautiful filly from the first crop of English Derby winner
POUR MOI out of
AWAIT. This good walking filly is sister to the Gr.1 winner
CAMBINA and became the dearest of the first crop in the sales ring in 2013.
At the Arqana Breeding Stock Sale, there was an other filly by a first crop sire, which caught the eye and was purchased by
STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK. This time it was a daughter of
POET'S VOICE out of
GAUDERA and such a sister to Gr.2 winner
GRANDCAMP. Of the foals by one of the best sons of
DUBAWI, this was the best walking one seen at the sales and finally became the most expensive foal from his first crop.
All going well, these foals will be reoffered at the leading yearling sales in 2013.
