05/02/12 big loss through the death of GENEVRA

mutiple Stakeswinner died

18yo GENVRA (Danehill-Astra Adastra) died surprisingly Sunday morning at SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN within a few minutes. She was in foal to ARCHIPENKO and quite close to foaling as her due date was the 23rd of February. Being from the first crop of yearling fillies purchased by STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK at a public sale back in 1995, GENVERA was the apple of the eye of Marion. Purchased at the Goffs Challenge Sale for IRGNS80.000, she was the 3rd highest prize of the yearling crop in 1995 by DANEHILL.

However she won 5 races including 3 Stakesraces in her career and was Gr.3 placed at 2 in the Premio Dormello. So far 8 of her 9 offspring hit the racecourse and became winners, the 9th is a 2yo filly GOLD AND WHITE which is in training with German Championtrainer Peter Schiergen for Team Valor. So far the offspring of GENEVRA have won 22 races and €214.815 in England, France, Germany, Italy and the USA for different owners and except one all were sold at public auction. The most expensive of these was GRANATO, sold for GNS170.000 to Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid al Maktoum.

Hopefully her legacy will be carried on through her daughter, the multiple Stakeswinner GOLDEN WHIP by SEATTLE DANCER. She will visit INVINCIBLE SPIRIT in her first season at stud.
