04/09/24 Gr.1 placed Lady Mary to continue her career in USA and under a new ownership

bred and owned by Graf und Gräfin Stauffenberg, born and raised at Schlossgut Itlingen

The 3yo filly LADY MARY (Lawman-LA REINE NOIR) will continue her racing career in the USA, under the care of trainer Jack Sisterson, after being sold privatley to a partnership around MHM Stables.
Bred by GRAF UND GRÄFIN STAUFFENBERG, LADY MARY was born and raised at SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN and trained by Andreas Suborics for her breeders. She made a winning debut as a 2-yo in Baden-Baden and quickly proved her class, finishing narrowly beaten in three Gr.3 races. These were the Preis der Winterkönigin as a 2-yo again in Baden-Baden, then this year the Schwarzgold-Rennen in Cologne and the Diana-Trial in Hoppegarten. Her final race for her breeders was in the Gr.1 Preis der Diana - German Oaks in Düsseldorf where she finished a strong 3rd. In her 8 career starts she won at her debut and secured herself 6 places on Stakes or Pattern level, amassing earnings of €120.750 for her connections.
LADY MARY hails from a distinguished bloodline and traces back to LA CONCORDIA by SURUMU, privatley purchased by STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK as a foundation mare from Gestüt Fährhof back in 1995. LADY MARY has LA CONCORDIA as her 3rd dam. LA CONCORDIA left GRAF UND GRÄFIN STAUFFENBERG two daughters, both by SHAREEF DANCER. One of them, LA FELICITA became not only the first Stakes placed homebred for her breeders, but she produced also their first homebred Gr.3 winner in LUCIDOR by ZAFONIC and their first Gr.1 winner in LADY MARIAN by NAYEF. She is in turn a sister to LA REINE NOIR by RAINBOW QUEST, the dam of LADY MARY.
LADY MARY's departure marks the end of an era for GRAF UND GRÄFIN STAUFFENBERG, as she was the last representative of this highly successful family in their breeding operation. Nonetheless, her sale represents a bittersweet moment for her breeders, who had hoped to retain her for their broodmare band, but they acknowledge the filly's toughness, class, and consistency
