24/02/13 Lava Lamp wins with 15 length in the UK

LAVA LAMP (Shamardal-La Felicita) won his sixth race at Fontwell in the UK. Bred by Graf und Grafin Stauffenberg at their SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN, the now 6yo was sold by STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK  at the Tattersalls December Foal Sales. Purchased by John Ferguson on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed, he was given as a present to his son Sheikh Hamdan and put into training with Mark Johnston. LAVA LAMP won two races on the flat before he was sold on to Janet Davies at the end of his 3yo career. Since then he is jumping and won now his fourth race over hurdles.

LAVA LAMP is a brother to Gr.1 winner LADY MARIAN by Nayef and Gr.3 winner LUCIDOR by Zafonic. However LA FELICITA produced one more foal for her breeders before she was sold privately to Kirsten Rausing's Landwades Stud by STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK. There is still one daughter left in the broodmare band of Graf und Grafin Stauffenberg. This is the Rainbow Quest mare LA REINE NOIR, who has a 2yo filly by Nayef, called LA GRASSETTA and a yearling filly by Montjeu called LA BOHEME. After she was barren to New Approach, she is due to be covered by Lawman.
