What a performance! 2yo SIENA STORM delivered a spectacular success in the Bosra Sham Stakes, L. at Newmarket today, winning by an emphatic six lengths under Kieran Shoemark for Ed Walker and TBT Racing. She cruised forward on the bridle to join the front rank passing the two pole and thundered clear out of the dip easily to leave the whole field behind her.

Racing over six furlongs on soft ground, the two-year-old daughter of NIGHT OF THUNDER out of SOUS LES ETOILES, by SEA THE STARS, proved much too strong for her opposition. Following her maiden success at Salisbury and competitive efforts in Group company, this was a tremendous way to secure her first Stakes victory.

For STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK, this success carries particular significance. SIENA STORM is the very first foal bred by our BREEDING SYNDICATE, and to see her become a Listed winner in her first season is immensely rewarding for everyone involved.

Her journey began when SOUS LES ETOILES was purchased by STAUFFENBERG BLOODSTOCK at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale in 2023 under the fitting synonym DREAMLAND, carrying the filly who would become SIENA STORM. Born and raised at their farm at SCHLOSSGUT ITLINGEN, she was always held in high regards, but did not reach her reserve of GNS300.000 in Book I of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales. She was then sold for 180,000gns at the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale before subsequently realising €600,000 at the Arqana Breeze Up Sale, where Ed Sackville secured her for her current connections.

There is further excitement for the family, with her yearling half-sister by ZARAK having realised 400,000gns at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales earlier this month.

SOUS LES ETOILES has a filly foal by MEHMAS and is in foal to MODERN GAMES.

Producing racehorses capable of performances like this is what drives our work every day. For our syndicate partners and the team at Itlingen, seeing the first foal of the venture achieve Stakes success is making the dreams a reality.

Congratulations to TBT RACING, ED WALKER, KIERAN SHOEMARK and everyone who has played a part in SIENA STORM’s development. What a filly, and what a day!
